 Dr. Tom Goreau:  President of the Global Coral Reef Alliance

 Educated in Jamaican schools and received degrees in :

Planetary Physics:    MIT

Planetary Astronomy :  CALTECH

Doctorate in Bio-Geo-Chemistry:    Harvard

 Dr. Goreau was Senior Scientific Affairs Officer at the United Nations Centre for Science and Technology for Development.

 Although he has done research in fields including the chemistry and physics of atmospheres, global climate change, Amazon deforestation, microbiology and mathematical modeling, his focus has always been coral reefs.  His father was the worlds first diving marine biologist and he grew up on the reefs of Jamaica.  Since then his work on the effects of global warming, pollution and new diseases on coral have taken him to  reefs all around the Caribbean, Indian Ocean, and the Pacific.  His major focus now is coral reef and fisheries restoration and community based coastal zone management in developing countries especially island nations.

 Began working in the sea 30 years ago. Inventor of the Biorock Mineral Accreation Process.  Has been working with Dr. Tom Goreau for the last 15 years.  Many patents involving the Biorock process in joint projects around the world.

 Projects: Coral arks, breakwaters, erosion control, artificial islands, building materials.

 Overall Interest:  Wolf promotes the new field of  “SEASCAPING” as it’s own discipline.
