Lembar Harbour

Situated on the west coast, Lembar is the arrival point for ferries from Bali. The ferries depart Bali from Padangbai every hour. Journey time is 4-5 hours. A one way ticket costs approximately RP 15,000.  Most travellers tend to take the tourist shuttle service from Bali which includes transfers to and from the harbours to the destination of their choice. These shuttles charge an all inclusive price and vary depending on your start point in Bali & destination in Lombok. Perama is the longest standing and most respected of these agencies. With any of them take care to take the earliest available option out of Bali or you may find yourself having to spend a night in Mataram before completing your journey.

As well as the ferries there is also a catamaran called Mabua Express which runs from Benoa in Bali to Lembar. This service is also subject to some suspensions so ask on the forum for up to date information or call them direct on 0361 721212. This service costs almost as much as flying so I have never tried it myself, prefering to take the plane instead.

A word of advice for any of the harbours in Bali & Lombok. If you let someone help you with your bag, expect to pay for it. If you need the help make sure you agree the price in advance.
